For the third time in the last five years, Brandon Bakies visited the winner’s circle at the Texas Motorplex. Bakies, a winner in 2018-19, claimed the Super Stock title in his SAM Tech COPO Camaro by beating third-generation racer Aydan Patterson in a heads-up run, 9.381 to 9.515.

Phil Unruh won the all-Kansas Super Gas final in his ’67 Camaro for career win No. 7, two of which have come at Texas Motorplex. Unruh nailed a clutch .006 reaction time in the final and collected the win when final-round opponent Heidi Robison took too much stripe and broke out with a 9.889. Unruh’s win was his first in Super Gas after previous victories in Super Stock (3), Top Dragster (2), and Super Street (1).
