A day after clinching his second straight and third overall Top Alcohol Funny Car championship, Doug Gordon won his sixth Wally of the season and the 26th of a driving career that will conclude this season by defeating two-time Top Alcohol Dragster world champ Jim Whiteley in the final round. Whiteley also came into the final with 25 career wins in a combined Top Alcohol Dragster and Pro Mod career but looking for his first win in the class.

Michael Holcombe completed a homestate Texas two-step in Super Comp, following up his 2022 Houston win with a victory in Dallas, defeating David Long, 8.91 to 8.92. Holcombe also was the runner-up earlier this season in Bristol.
