Art Hoover ran his record to a perfect 3-0 in final rounds following his final-round win against Rodger Comstock in Top Dragster presented by Vortech Superchargers. Hoover, who won the last Top Dragster event in Phoenix in 2020, claimed the double-breakout final with a 6.428 on his 6.44 dial. Comstock, who races alongside his wife, Karen, defeated Phil Dion to reach the final.

Former world champ Ryan McClanahan earned his 10th career win and second in Phoenix when he grabbed the Super Stock title. McClanahan made a solo run in the final with his quick SS/AM Cobalt after opponent Larry McLanahan was a no-show.

A week after winning in Pomona, Leo Glasbrenner continued his perfect start by winning his ninth national event title in Phoenix. In the Stock final round, Glasbrenner drove his COPO Camaro past Jeff Jerome’s vintage Plymouth with a perfect 9.41 on his 9.41 dial. Jerome was able to match Glasbrenner in the reaction-time department but ran a hundredth off his dial with a 10.16.

Seventeen years after his breakthrough first career win in Phoenix, Mark Yeager was back for seconds in Super Gas. The California driver wheeled his West Coast Architectural Sheet Metal ’63 Corvette roadster to a tight .012-second final-round package, tying a .007 reaction time to a near-perfect 9.905, to defeat 2020 Dodge NHRA Finals winner Mike Boehner’s 9.924.
