D.J. Cox, who fell just one win light short of winning Top Alcohol Funny Car at the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals two weeks earlier, gained a measure of revenge on the guy who beat him at Indy and in the final in Charlotte in the spring, world champ Sean Bellemeur, to collect his third career victory.
